Education: Kerri graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. After obtaining a clinical license in the state of Missouri, she received her play therapy certification and is currently a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Kerri has completed training in EMDR and is currently studying how to fully incorporate this practice into her work with children. In addition, Kerri is a state-rostered TF-CBT trained therapist in Missouri and is working on becoming nationally certified. Finally, Kerri has additional training in child development and has been a certified Parents as Teachers educator. Kerri is passionate about trauma work with children and loves learning new ways to facilitate healing in families.
Experience: After receiving her degree in Social Work, Kerri has worked in a variety of settings including early childhood, school-based, and home-based. She is currently the Clinical Director at SAFHOME, a domestic violence shelter in Kansas, where her team focuses on providing quality trauma-focused services for survivors and their families. She also has a private practice where she works with both child and adults in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Additional Information: Kerri is an active member of the Association for Play Therapy. She is a Leadership Academy graduate and has been a member of multiple committees over the past 10 years.
