Sandtray in Play Therapy

This workshop will provide information about a play therapy technique called Sandtray. This workshop will focus on the history, supplies, basic concepts and themes of Sandtray Therapy as it pertains to play therapy.  Participants will learn about the power of Sandtray Therapy and how this play therapy tool can facilitate an individual, family or group to process and explore personal development, trauma and future goals in a safe and non-threatening environment.

Objectives:

  1.  The workshop will provide an overview of the fundamental principles and techniques central to Sandtray Therapy through instruction, demonstration and experiential engagement.
  2.  The workshop will provide an overview of common themes found in Sandtray work as a play therapy technique where abuse and trauma are primary concerns.
  3.  The workshop will provide an overview of Sandtray therapy applications as it relates to play therapy groups.
