Ragan Snyder-Smith, LSCSW, RPT-S

Ragan graduated from Wichita State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2002. She went on to earn her Master’s in Social Work from Wichita State University in 2004, and her Play Therapy Certification from Heartland Play Therapy in 2017. She is also a Certified Autism Specialist and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor.

Ragan began her career as an addictions counselor at an outpatient addictions treatment center. She went on to work three years in foster care and adoptions, and this experience solidified her love of working with children. Ragan has also worked in private practice, medical social work and psychiatric social work in a local emergency room. Currently, Ragan is in her 15th year as a middle school social worker and works part-time for a local non-profit for children with special needs as a Behavior Consultant and also teaches Crisis Intervention classes.

Ragan practices play therapy, sandtray therapy, bibliotherapy in the schools and sees the value and benefit of play in empowering and healing her clients. She loves sharing her passion for play therapy with other professionals (she calls other play therapists her “tribe”).

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, mindfulness, reading, running, yoga & healthy living.
